On Wednesday, March 2, 2016 Jordan High School hosted the Region 2A Subsection 8 large group band contest. Eight schools in the area, including Jordan High School, performed contest-level band music for Minnesota State High School league judges. Each band was scored according to MSHL guidelines and received critique and feedback from the adjudicators. Music is sorted into three categories or difficulty levels (category III, II, and I) with category III consisting of high school level literature and category I consisting of collegiate and professional level literature.
The Jordan High School band earned unanimous superior ratings from all three judges (the highest possible), performing Category I music and earned the overall highest scores of the subsection. This is a significant achievement for the JHS Band! Congratulations to the JHS Band students!
The band will perform these contest pieces and more at the Midwinter Concert on March 7th at 7:00pm in the JHS Auditorium.
